Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that an operation was carried out against those committing qualified fraud using information systems.

Yerlikaya stated that 48 suspects were apprehended in "SIBERGOZ-35" operations conducted by the Gendarmerie across 13 provinces, centered in Antalya, targeting individuals committing the crime of qualified fraud using information systems.

Here is Yerlikaya's post:

We are on the heels of those who commit qualified fraud using information systems. We will never let them get away with it.

Under the coordination of the Kaş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command's Department of Combating Cybercrime, the "SIBERGOZ-35" operation was carried out by the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Cybercrime Branch in Antalya, as well as in Adana, Balıkesir, Batman, Hatay, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Manisa, Mardin, Mersin, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ.

It was determined that the suspects, who committed the crime of qualified fraud using information systems:

Used fake TURSAB documents on the fake websites and social media accounts they created to build trust,

Conducted detailed reconnaissance on villas located in the Kaş, Kalkan, Finike, Patara, Adrasan, Çıralı, and Olimpos regions,

Defrauded 100 of our citizens who wanted to rent these villas by pretending to be the owners through fake social media accounts, and received payments via wire transfer/EFT through these sites.

It was determined that there was a cash flow of 500 million TL in the suspects' bank accounts.

As a result of the operations:

A large number of digital materials were seized.

I congratulate our Kaş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and our heroic Gendarmerie who carried out the operations. May God protect you. Our nation's prayers are with you.
