An organized crime group led by Gökhan Kuş was dismantled during the "KAFES-34" operations carried out in Balıkesir. A total of 13 suspects, including the leader of the organization, were apprehended in the operations.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on X.
Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, and within the scope of the work carried out by the Balıkesir Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch, it was determined that the organized crime group led by Gökhan Kuş had obtained illicit gains by establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes such as robbery, debt collection, and usury; carried out residential shootings for the purpose of intimidation and extortion; seized entertainment venues; and committed acts of armed threat, armed assault, and attempted murder.
As a result of the operations, 6 unlicensed pistols and various amounts of narcotics were seized.
