Ali Yerlikaya announces the financial toll of forest fires
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared the results of damage assessment studies in 13 provinces following the fires that have occurred since June 1, 2025. Yerlikaya stated that serious damage occurred to homes, workplaces, and barns in the affected regions.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared updated data with the public regarding the damage and loss assessment studies conducted in 13 provinces following the forest fires that have occurred since June 1, 2025.
According to the information announced by Minister Yerlikaya, a total of 407 homes, 17 workplaces, and 96 barns in the regions affected by the fires were determined to be destroyed or heavily damaged. It was announced that an appropriation exceeding 128 million Turkish Liras has been sent to the relevant provinces to support citizens affected by the disasters.
Damage and loss assessment studies in our provinces where the fires have been brought under control are being carried out urgently by AFAD and our relevant institutions.

Yerlikaya also stated that the amount of aid provided to a total of 490 households in 7 different provinces has exceeded 83 million Turkish Liras. It was noted that support for those in need will continue after the damage assessment studies are completed.

"Damage and loss assessment studies in our provinces where fires have been brought under control are being carried out promptly by AFAD and our relevant institutions.
Across our country, from June 1, 2025, to date, a total of 407 residences, 17 workplaces, and 96 barns have been identified as destroyed or heavily damaged in our 13 provinces.

Damage and loss assessment studies have been conducted.
A total of 128,470,242 TL in funding has been sent to our provinces affected by the fires, and 83,277,710 TL has been paid to 490 households in 7 of our provinces.
In our İzmir province, a total of 40,574,070 TL, consisting of 34,367,450 TL for 295 damaged residences and 6,206,620 TL to be used for other expenses,
In our Bilecik province, a total of 35,668,904 TL, consisting of 5,745,000 TL for 69 residences and 29,923,904 TL to be used for other expenses,
In the Akhisar district of our Manisa province, 1,677,900 TL for 5 residences,
In our Hatay province, 2,229,100 TL for 71 residences within the scope of damage assessment studies,
In our Çanakkale province, 800,966 TL for 10 households, including 2 residences and 8 instances of property damage,
In our Sakarya province, 495,000 TL for 4 households within the scope of damage assessment studies,
In our Karabük province, 1,831,770 TL has been paid to 36 households within the scope of damage assessment studies.
Within the scope of the urgent housing needs of our citizens in the provinces where the fire was effective, 105 containers have been dispatched;
26 in our İzmir province,
27 in our Bilecik province,
3 in our Sakarya province,
and 7 in our Karabük province, for a total of 63 container installations have been completed.
It is of great importance that our citizens be much more cautious and take precautions to protect our forests, especially during hot summer days.
