A social media user named Zihni Çakır made posts containing allegations about former Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya.
Çakır shared a photo of Yerlikaya taken while he was shopping at a nut shop called Çitlekçi with the note, "It turns out Ali Yerlikaya was a regular customer of Çitlekçi."
In another post, Zihni Çakır said, "Did they shell out Ankara's money in a state-municipality-nut shop triangle? The reckless relationships that Ankara's CHP Mayor Mansur Yavaş has established with the upper echelons of the public are known to everyone." Çakır claimed that there was a financial interest relationship between Yavaş and Yerlikaya and that he had made a request for zoning.
Former Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya denied the allegations. Making a statement via social media, Yerlikaya said, "You twisted-minded troll... Every line of what you wrote is a basely fabricated, despicable slander. I am filing a criminal complaint against you. You will be held accountable before the law."
Çakır deleted his posts a few hours later.
