Ali Yerlikaya reveals the grim toll of the last two days

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced the grim toll of traffic accidents during the two-day holiday: 12 of our citizens have lost their lives, and a total of 1,966 citizens have been injured.

During the first two days of the Ramadan Feast holiday, 12 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, and 1,966 people were injured.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the grim toll as follows:

"Our police and gendarmerie traffic teams are continuing their inspections with great sensitivity for the safety of our citizens.

On the 2nd day of the holiday, Sunday, April 7, 2024, within a 24-hour period:

572 traffic accidents occurred. 408 thousand 796 vehicles were inspected. Speed and radar enforcement actions were taken against 19 thousand 488 vehicles,

and other actions were taken against 33 thousand 145 vehicles.

In the first 2 days of the holiday (Saturday and Sunday), unfortunately, a total of 12 of our citizens lost their lives. A total of 1,966 of our citizens were injured. I wish God's mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to our injured.

Please do not speed. Let us not neglect to wear seat belts in our vehicles and on buses. Let us obey traffic rules; journeys are meant to reunite you with your loved ones, not to separate you."
