As citizens who traveled to their hometowns for the Ramadan Feast holiday begin their return journeys, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya issued important warnings.
Stating that 48 citizens lost their lives in traffic accidents during the first 6 days of the holiday, Yerlikaya said, “Please do not speed, do not neglect to wear seat belts in our vehicles and on buses, and let us obey traffic rules.”
Yerlikaya’s statement is as follows;
“On the 6th day of the holiday, Thursday, April 11, 2024;
635 traffic accidents occurred
391 thousand 472 vehicles were inspected
Speed and radar enforcement was applied to 23 thousand 813 vehicles
Other enforcement actions were applied to 23 thousand 886 vehicles.
In the first 6 days of the holiday in total;
3 thousand 706 traffic accidents occurred
48 of our citizens lost their lives.
6 thousand 184 of our citizens were injured. I wish God’s mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to our injured.”
