According to the records of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT), two separate trademark registration applications were filed for the names "New Party" on July 17 and "New Party Headquarters" on July 19.
The dates of these applications have brought the recent statements of Özgür Özel, who was removed from his position as CHP Chairman by a court decision, regarding preparations for a new party back to the agenda.
WHO FILED THE APPLICATIONS?
On the other hand, there is no official confirmation that the person or persons who made these trademark applications are connected to Özgür Özel and his team.
PREVIOUS APPLICATIONS WERE ALSO REJECTED
In the TÜRKPATENT records, it was observed that trademark registration applications previously made under the name "New Party" in 2019, 2020, and 2025 were also rejected.
ÖZEL HAD SAID "WE ARE WORKING ON A NAME AND LOGO"
The elected Chairman of the CHP, Özgür Özel, made assessments regarding the name and establishment process of the party that is on the agenda to be formed during a program he attended on Sözcü TV last week.
Stating that the party name has not yet been finalized, Özel used the following expressions: "We are working on a name and logo. A clarification has begun to emerge regarding the name. The generally accepted name is clear, the logo is still being worked on. For now, let's call it 'New Party'. I mean, let's call it the new party until there is a name."
