All sessions of the Higher Education Institutions Examination have been completed
The third and final session of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS), organized by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), the Foreign Language Test (YDT), has been completed.

University candidates answered the questions for the first session of YKS, the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), yesterday. Candidates answered the second session, the Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), and the third and final session, the Foreign Language Test (YDT) questions, today.
The final session, YDT, which began at 15:45, lasted 120 minutes. There were a total of 80 questions in the exam, which was held in German, Arabic, French, English, and Russian.
OVER 1 MILLION PERSONNEL WERE IN THE FIELD
YKS was administered in 245 exam centers across 81 provinces, as well as in Nicosia, TRNC, and Zagreb, Croatia. ÖSYM organized the exam in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, for 10 national football players from the Under-18 National Football Team who were participating in a Friendship Tournament.
A total of 1 million 97 thousand 82 people served in the Higher Education Institutions Examination. There were 438 thousand 684 personnel in the TYT session, 282 thousand 812 in the AYT, and 36 thousand 46 in the final session, YDT. A total of 63 thousand 463 security personnel were on duty across the three sessions to ensure exam security.
In the individual and group halls created according to disability groups, 12 thousand 848 disabled candidates participated in the TYT, 8 thousand 334 in the AYT, and 1032 in the YDT. There were 1911 reader-markers in the TYT session, 1140 reader-markers in the AYT, and 76 reader-markers in the YDT.
Provincial and district population directorates remained open today for candidates who did not have an identity card or whose identity card lacked a citizenship number or photograph.
FEMALE CANDIDATES OUTNUMBERED MALES
Of those who applied for the 2024-YKS, 1 million 614 thousand 728 were female and 1 million 506 thousand 150 were male candidates. Applications for the exam, where the youngest candidate was 15 and the oldest was 85, were concentrated in the 17-23 age range.
In the YKS, for which 33 thousand 816 candidates aged 50 and over applied, the number of candidates wishing to benefit from the quota for women over 34 determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) was 125 thousand 892.
According to the ÖSYM calendar, YKS results will be announced on July 17.
