Mehmet Başak, the husband of Yüksek Başak, who gave birth on September 5, 2025, in the Nusaybin district of Mardin, claims that they were told during pregnancy check-ups that they were expecting twins, but only one baby was delivered at birth.
Başak alleged that doctors first gave him the good news of a baby boy during the birth, but that a baby girl was handed over after the delivery.
"ONE BABY HAS DISAPPEARED" CLAIM
Mehmet Başak expressed his suspicions, stating, "I did not sign the documents. We were constantly told it was twins. I believe one baby has disappeared." Başak stated that he has filed a criminal complaint with the police and reported his grievance by calling the Ministry of Health's 184 hotline.
