Allegations of data breach in 'İstanbul Senin' application: Detention warrants issued for 4 IMM personnel
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued detention warrants for 4 individuals employed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) as part of an investigation into allegations that the personal data of millions of users was leaked to foreign countries via the "İstanbul Senin" application.

As part of the investigation, detention warrants were issued for 2 individuals working in the IMM Smart City Department and 2 individuals working in the Communication Coordination Center.
The statement issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office noted the following:
"Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into a criminal organization established for profit by Ekrem İMAMOĞLU; regarding the leakage of personal data and location information of 4.7 million application users to two different foreign countries via the application named 'İSTANBUL SENİN', the offering for sale of personal data and location information of 3.7 million application users on the 'dark web', and the processing and exfiltration of ballot box data of 11 million of our citizens into the sub-application named 'İBB HANEM' located within the same application; detention warrants have been issued for a total of (4) suspects—two of whom are employed at the IMM Smart City Department and the other two at the Communication Coordination Center—who were mentioned in the statements taken by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, whose connections with the organization's leaders were identified, and who were understood to have been involved in the processing and transfer of the data abroad, on charges of unlawful dissemination of personal data and membership in a criminal organization."
