In Istanbul's Kağıthane district, 10-month-old Poyraz Ali, the son of Ali and Kıyafet Aksunğur, was taken to a private hospital in Çağlayan after falling ill. He was discharged after receiving an injection there.

The mother, who noticed that the baby was not breathing and had started to turn blue four hours after being put to sleep at home, notified emergency services. Following the initial intervention by medical teams who arrived at the house shortly after the report, baby Poyraz Ali was taken to the Kızılay Hospital in Merkez Neighborhood. Despite all interventions while under treatment there, the baby could not be saved.

Following the death of Poyraz Ali, an investigation was launched after police teams were informed. As a result of the work carried out by crime scene investigation teams and the Public Prosecutor, the baby's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue as the death was considered suspicious. After a preliminary autopsy was performed there, Poyraz Ali was handed over to his family.

It has been alleged that the baby died due to rotavirus (infectious diarrhea) and that there may have been negligence because he was not admitted to the first private hospital he was taken to, but was instead discharged after only receiving an injection. Meanwhile, it was learned that the mother, Kıyafet Aksunğur, has provided her statement as a complainant.
