Allegations of sexual abuse against 3rd-grade students in Batman! Teacher arrested

The judicial process initiated in Batman after 14 third-grade girls at Zübeyde Hanım Primary School reported the sexual abuse they were subjected to is expanding.

TEACHER ARRESTED

The classroom teacher at the center of the allegations, N.M., was arrested following the children's testimonies and sent to Batman Prison. 

The children stated that they were directed by N.M. to a stationery store located on a secluded street in the Sağlık neighborhood of Batman. 

The stationery store, which is currently under investigation, was identified as one of the locations where the abuse occurred, according to the children's statements. 

In the testimonies taken from the students in the presence of pedagogues, it was alleged that they were subjected to sexually explicit behavior not only at the stationery store but also inside the classroom. 

Furthermore, there were statements indicating that some male students were also involved in these acts. 

During the investigation process, it was also alleged that the guidance counselor had directed some of the girls to the same stationery store.  

BATMAN BAR ASSOCIATION HAS INTERVENED IN THE PROCESS 

The Batman Bar Association has intervened in the case to ensure the legal safety of the children. While 3 families have filed official complaints so far, it was stated that this number could increase. 

It was learned that some families are having difficulty filing complaints due to the trauma they have experienced. 

POLITICAL CONNECTION DRAWS ATTENTION

It was learned that the arrested teacher, N.M., is a relative of Chief Presidential Advisor and Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç. 

A confidentiality order has been issued regarding the abuse allegations.
