In a report citing a military source, Syria's news agency SANA claimed that several points around Damascus were targeted by an Israeli airstrike at 01:20 local time.
The report stated, "Our air defense systems intercepted missiles coming from the direction of Lebanon and shot some of them down. The attack caused damage."
SANA had also claimed just before midnight that Israel had conducted an airstrike on Damascus.
There has been no statement from Israeli authorities regarding the attack.
