Alleged to have killed and buried her baby in a field: Mother sentenced to life imprisonment

In the Karşıyaka neighborhood of Ordu's Altınordu district, mother B.Ç. and her sister B.Ç., who was suspected of assisting her, were taken into custody following the discovery of a baby's body buried in a field on October 6, 2022.
The final hearing regarding the incident was held at the 1st High Criminal Court, with the detained defendant B.Ç. (28) and lawyers in attendance.
B.Ç., for whom a report stating "full criminal responsibility" was received from the Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine, stated in her defense, "I did nothing. I am innocent. I have nothing else to say."
Following the statements of the lawyers, the court panel sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a descendant relative."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Within the scope of the investigation, the mother B.Ç. was arrested by the judgeship, while her sister was released after police procedures.
In the indictment prepared by the Ordu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an aggravated life sentence was requested for the defendant B.Ç. on the charge of "intentional killing of a descendant relative."
