Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launches investigation into attack on 'Sumud Flotilla'

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into the attack carried out by the Israeli navy in international waters against the Sumud Flotilla, which set sail to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and included Turkish citizens among its participants.

The investigation was initiated in accordance with Article 13 of the Turkish Penal Code, which stipulates that Turkish laws and the Turkish judiciary have jurisdiction even when international crimes are committed by a foreigner in a foreign country.
