It has been reported that 41 people were detained during protests held in Ankara following the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is expected to be the CHP's presidential candidate. In a statement made on the X platform, he used the following expressions:

'41 individuals who resisted the police during illegal demonstrations that took place in our province, using investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as a pretext, have been detained and handed over to judicial authorities for necessary processing.

It is our minimum duty as citizens to assist our police in their duties, which they carry out with common sense, patience, and self-sacrifice for the peace and security of our people, and not to fall for provocations.'
