Another detention for insulting the President... Lecturer handcuffed behind her back
Piri Reis University lecturer Eda Saraç was detained on charges of insulting the President while trying to go to the theater in Harbiye. Saraç was arrested by the court and sent to prison.

In an incident that took place in Istanbul's Harbiye district the other evening, Piri Reis University lecturer Eda Saraç learned that the passage in the area was closed due to security measures taken for President Erdoğan while she was trying to make it to the theater. A dispute arose after Saraç reacted to her path being blocked by police barriers.
According to eyewitness accounts, Saraç was detained by police teams with her hands cuffed behind her back. It was also alleged that she was assaulted during the detention.
ACCUSATION OF INSULTING THE PRESIDENT
It was learned that proceedings were initiated against Eda Saraç, who was taken to the police station, on charges of "insulting the President." Saraç spent the night in a holding cell following the detention procedures.
Referred to the courthouse the next day, Saraç was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
REACTION FROM CHP: "WHY IS IT CONSIDERED AN INSULT?"
CHP Women's Branch Chair Asu Kaya, who followed the hearing, reacted to the incident in a statement made outside the courthouse. Kaya said, "A woman, an artist, is dragged on the ground, beaten while handcuffed behind her back, and arrested just because she was trying to make it to her stage. Why is objecting to barriers considered an insult to the President?"
