Actor Atakan Yılmaz has been arrested by the court following an investigation launched against him on allegations of encouraging people to gamble by advertising illegal betting.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into actor Atakan Yılmaz on allegations that he engaged in actions such as placing advertisements within the videos and images he published, and that he extensively carried out activities promoting and encouraging illegal betting. The suspect, Yılmaz, was taken into custody on January 7 as part of the investigation.
Within the scope of the investigation, the suspect Yılmaz was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after his procedures at the police station were completed. After giving his statement to the Prosecutor's Office there, Yılmaz was arrested by the Istanbul Criminal Court of Peace and sent to prison.
