Another obstacle before CHP's Bursa rally! TMSF rejects request

The next stop for the Republican People's Party (CHP) in its "Defending the National Will" rally series will be Bursa. As preparations continue for the rally to be held at Bursa City Square on Sunday, May 25, the party's request to hang posters on billboards was rejected by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF).

CHP Party Assembly (PM) Member Canan Taşer reacted to this decision.

As reported by Sözcü, Taşer, who considers the prevention of poster placement not just a technical rejection but a direct intervention in the will of the people, stated the following:

“Our provincial branch's request to advertise on billboards, for which they were prepared to pay the fee, regarding our “Defending the National Will” rally that we will hold on Sunday, May 25, with the participation of our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel, has unfortunately been rejected by the TMSF. This obstruction is a blow to the national will, democracy, people's freedom to receive information, and democratic participation. We are accustomed to these blows.

Just as we repelled the blow to the national will on March 19 with the power of the people, we will gather as hundreds of thousands in the city square on Sunday and stand by our Chairman. In this country, where we can no longer even speak of the 'a' of justice in an unfair and unlawful manner, we will be comrades to our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held unlawfully.

In Bursa, particularly in the metropolitan municipality, the Osmangazi, Harmancık, and Kemalpaşa municipalities chose to trust and vote for the Republican People's Party after a 47-year hiatus, and they have been introduced to populist municipalism. Both in Bursa and in many provinces of Turkey, our mayors continue their services by being in touch with the public and explaining their transparent and honest approach to populist and social municipalism to our people.

In the polls, we are progressing by adding points every month to our election rates from the last local elections. This success is also the success that brings general power. They are trying to block the path of our municipalities' successful work through different methods, both by unlawfully arresting our presidential candidate Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu and by trying to 'shake up' the municipalities, in their own words. But no matter what they do, the public sees the truth very clearly.”

“THEY BANNED THE BILLBOARDS, BUT THEY CANNOT BAN THE STREETS”

“As the CHP, we are in the field every day, we are in the squares,” said Taşer, continuing:

“We are meeting with non-governmental organizations, hometown associations, and academics. We are also meeting with our tradespeople in the markets and bazaars. People say every day that they can no longer live in this country and express their economic grievances. But everyone is aware of this: without justice in this country, without justice in the true sense, neither the economy, nor education, nor health can improve. For this reason, the public sees the truth; no matter what they do, they will not be able to prevent this.

Taking down the photos of Ekrem [İmamoğlu] and Emrah [Yıldız] is actually an indication of how desperate the one-man rule and the palace regime have become. The President has become afraid even of the photos of our presidential candidate whom they hold unlawfully inside. We encountered a billboard obstacle before the rally we will hold in Bursa, but our organization is in the field. They are distributing brochures, and similarly, our district vehicles are touring street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, announcing our rally. Today, our headquarters' bus will tour all the streets of our Bursa and make announcements. I will be the first to get on this bus and make an announcement; no matter what, they will not be able to prevent us from meeting with hundreds of thousands.”
