As protests continue across Turkey following the imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 19, another one of the detained students has been released due to health problems. The detention procedures and subsequent arrests targeting students protesting İmamoğlu's imprisonment had caused widespread repercussions among university students.

In demonstrations held at many points, primarily at Saraçhane Square in Istanbul, which became the center of the protests, university students both boycotted their classes and made their voices heard through various actions. As a result of these protests, a total of 301 students had been arrested.

KEMAL DENİZ ÇELİKTAŞ HAD BEEN RELEASED PREVIOUSLY

During this process, Kemal Deniz Çeliktaş, one of the students suffering from serious health problems, was released as of yesterday evening with a travel ban. Considering Çeliktaş's health condition, the young student was released following the court's decision. With the release of Çeliktaş, the number of detained students fell to 299.

In recent days, 21-year-old student Emir Sayer had also been released in a similar manner due to health problems.
