Another statement has been issued by the company of former Galatasaray Vice President and Nef Chairman of the Board Erden Timur, who was detained as part of an investigation into "betting in football."

A statement has been issued by Nef, where former Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Vice President Erden Timur serves as Chairman of the Board, following his detention as part of an investigation into "betting in football."
The statement included the following remarks:
"Due to the continued publication and sharing of biased, irresponsible, untrue, and misleading content in some media outlets, particularly on social media platforms, which is incompatible with the ethical principles of journalism, a new statement has become necessary to fulfill our responsibility to inform the public accurately. We hereby inform the public that we categorically reject speculative statements and publications that target our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Erden Timur, and our company's corporate reputation, and which are not based on any concrete facts or documents and are intended to manipulate public opinion.
In this regard, we invite everyone to respect the judicial process and the presumption of innocence, and to refrain from efforts to create perceptions based on unverified allegations. We would like to emphasize that we will resolutely exercise all our legal rights to protect the personal rights and commercial reputation of our company and Mr. Erden Timur."
WHAT HAPPENED?
As part of the investigation into allegations of illegal betting in football, detention warrants were issued for 29 people, including former Galatasaray executive Erden Timur, Turkish Football Federation Foreign Relations and National Teams Administrative Director Buğra Cem İmamoğulları, and Eyüpspor Vice President Fatih Kulaksız. Of these individuals, 24 were detained, 14 of whom are football players.
Eyüpspor Club President Murat Özkaya was also arrested on December 10, 2025, as part of the football betting investigation. A detention order was issued for Murat Özkaya on the grounds of "influencing the outcome of a match."
It was learned that Enes Bartan, for whom a detention warrant was issued, is currently being held in prison.
A new wave of operations was carried out in the football betting investigation, and detention warrants were issued for 29 people, 14 of whom are football players. Former Galatasaray executive Erden Timur was among those detained.
