Another 'yellow serum' case! 22-year-old woman loses her life

In Adana, 22-year-old Selinay Fidancan, who received an IV drip consisting of painkillers and vitamins—known colloquially as 'yellow serum' or 'atom'—fell ill shortly afterward and lost her life. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred on January 17 at approximately 19:30 in the Anadolu neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. It is alleged that 22-year-old Selinay Fidancan (Yüksekbaş), a mother of two who was married under religious law and resided in a house on 880th Street in the Anadolu neighborhood, fell ill on January 17.

Following this, an assistant working at a local pharmacy came to the house and administered an IV drip consisting of painkillers and vitamins, known among the public as “Yellow Serum” or “Atom”. The young woman fell ill a short time after receiving the drip.

RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER HER HUSBAND REPORTED THE INCIDENT

The young woman was taken by ambulance to Yüreğir State Hospital after her husband, Seyfican Yüksekbaş, reported the situation. Although her heart, which had stopped at the hospital, was restarted, she lost her life on January 18. Following this, the police took the husband's statement. In his statement, Seyfican Yüksekbaş said that when she fell ill, the pharmacy assistant came to the house and administered the drip.

. It was learned that the pharmacy assistant, Murat M., was subsequently taken to the police station and released after his statement was taken. The young woman who lost her life has been laid to rest. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
