Appeal against Alican Uludağ's detention rejected
The appeal filed following the arrest warrant issued for journalist Alican Uludağ has been rejected by the court. His lawyers stated that they will apply to the Constitutional Court once the decision reaches them.

As part of an investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, journalist Alican Uludağ was accused of "publicly insulting the President," "spreading misleading information," and "degrading judicial bodies" based on posts made via his social media account.
After being detained at his home in Ankara, Uludağ was arrested on February 20 by the decision of the Istanbul 9th Criminal Judgeship of Peace on charges of "insulting the President." Uludağ's lawyers filed an appeal against this decision to the Istanbul 9th Criminal Judgeship of Peace on February 23.
The appeal was ruled upon by the Criminal Court of First Instance on February 27 and resulted in a rejection. The reasoning for the decision, which has not yet been officially served to the lawyers, is unknown. Lawyer Abbas Yalçın announced that they will apply to the Constitutional Court (AYM) once the decision is served.
