In June, Apple announced that it would bring artificial intelligence features, which it calls "Apple Intelligence," to phones with the new version of its operating systems. The first date when Apple Intelligence features will be available has emerged. According to reports, the new features will be available on October 28.
While Apple enables these features to run directly on the device on its powerful hardware, the features are run online on lower-tier devices.
WILL ONLY COME TO CERTAIN iPHONES
Apple's recently announced artificial intelligence features, Apple Intelligence, will only reach a limited number of iPhone models.
With the iOS 18.1 update expected to be released in October, the following models will gain artificial intelligence support:
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max
iPhone 16
iPhone 16 Plus
iPhone 16 Pro
iPhone 16 Pro Max
FEATURES WILL BE RELEASED GRADUALLY
Genmoji, image generation, and ChatGPT integration are expected to arrive on phones towards the end of the year. Generative AI-powered Siri, however, will likely not be released until the end of the year. Apple stated that the artificial intelligence features will first arrive in American English. Support for other languages will be added starting next year.
WHY WILL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE NOT COME TO OTHER MODELS?
As you can see above, only iPhone models with an A17 Pro processor or higher will receive the artificial intelligence update. Apple says that the processors in other models are not sufficient to run these features.
