The names in the new management of the technology company and GSM operator Turkcell, which is under the Wealth Fund, are drawing attention.
Boğaziçi University's appointed rector Prof. Naci İnci had become a member of the board of directors of Turkcell, which held its Ordinary General Assembly.
CHP Deputy Chairman, Zonguldak MP, and member of the Turkish Parliament's State Economic Enterprises (KİT) Commission, Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, stated that Rector İnci would receive a monthly salary of 150 thousand liras and said, “Board members also receive a large amount of dividends every year.” In previous years, this dividend was 250 thousand euros annually for the Chairman of the Board and 100 thousand euros each for the members.
According to the report by Deniz Ayhan from Sözcü, former AKP MP Ayşenur Bahçekapılı is still on the Turkcell board. AKP members have been appointed to the company in the past as well. Former Minister of Culture and Tourism Atilla Koç, former Minister of Energy and Ordu Mayor Hilmi Güler, former Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, and former Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Bülent Aksu have also served on the board.
