Are Syrians returning with tax-exempt vehicles? Statement from the DMM
Following the collapse of the Assad regime, the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has issued a statement regarding claims that Syrians in Turkey are returning to their country with tax-exempt vehicles.

The Presidency's Directorate of Communications Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has announced that the claim shared on some social media accounts, stating that "Syrians are returning with vehicles they purchased tax-free, without paying SCT or MVT," does not reflect the truth.
In the statement made from the DMM's social media account, it was noted that Syrians are obligated to pay the same official fees that Turkish citizens are required to pay for the motor vehicles they own, such as the Special Consumption Tax (SCT), Motor Vehicle Tax (MVT), and inspection fees.
The statement included the following: "Syrian refugees under Turkey's temporary protection do not have any tax exemptions or privileges. Do not give credence to baseless claims intended to manipulate public opinion."
