Armed attack at Bursa Courthouse: Statement from Health Minister Memişoğlu

An armed attack was carried out in a courtroom at the Bursa Courthouse. According to initial reports, 2 people hit by bullets lost their lives, and 2 people were injured. Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu reported that the condition of the 2 gendarmerie personnel injured in the armed attack remains critical.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM MINISTER MEMİŞOĞLU

In his statement during his visit to the Bursa Governorship, Minister Memişoğlu said that they were holding a meeting at the Bursa City Hospital to evaluate health services.

Recalling that an armed attack linked to a personal feud occurred during a hearing at the Bursa Courthouse, Memişoğlu spoke as follows:

"There are 2 dead. 2 of our gendarmerie were also injured. The condition of our gendarmerie is critical. Our 2 gendarmerie are being treated. We pray that God grants them healing and helps them. It is a tragic incident. We wish God's mercy upon those who lost their lives. The judicial process is ongoing. Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and our courthouse... I wish everyone a speedy recovery. I hope our gendarmerie will hold on to life. I would like to specifically state that their condition is critical. We will do our best to ensure that such incidents do not happen again."
