Armed attack on Bahçelievler State Hospital emergency room: Multiple people injured

An armed attack was carried out on the emergency department of Bahçelievler State Hospital at approximately 02:30.

According to reports, for reasons yet unknown, a group of attackers arrived at the hospital's emergency entrance by car and opened fire. In the attack, 1 hospital police officer, 1 hospital gendarme, 1 security guard, and 2 patients' relatives were injured by gunfire. The attackers fled the scene after the incident. Upon notification, numerous police special operations teams, public security branch teams, and crime scene investigation units were dispatched to the area. The injured were taken inside the hospital by medical staff and received treatment.

During the attack, which caused great fear among patients and medical staff, bullets struck the hospital windows, an ambulance waiting at the emergency entrance, and a parked vehicle. While extensive security measures were taken in front of the hospital, crime scene investigation teams conducted long-term examinations inside the hospital and at the emergency entrance. Police teams have launched an investigation into the perpetrators of the incident and the intended target of the attack.
