It has been learned that an armed attack was carried out on the home of Serik Mayor Kadir Kumbul, who resigned from the Republican People's Party (CHP) to join the AKP.
SHOTS FIRED AFTER HE ENTERED THE HOUSE
According to local sources, Kumbul was dropped off at his home by his driver and bodyguards after completing his daily schedule. Immediately after Kumbul entered the house, shots were fired from the area where the house is located by person or persons whose identities have not yet been determined.
While numerous bullets struck the detached house during the attack, no injuries occurred in the incident.
TEAMS DISPATCHED TO THE REGION
Following the sound of gunfire, police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene upon Kumbul's report. While an operation was launched to capture the fleeing attackers, security forces conducted a wide-ranging investigation in the area and collected evidence.
It has been alleged that following the attack, Kadir Kumbul made attempts to prevent the incident from being reported to the public.
