It is alleged that members of the public who wanted to inspect the Sinpaş construction site in Marmaris, Muğla—which continues despite all objections—were blocked by armed individuals.
According to a report by Aycan Karadağ from BirGün, the company's construction activities continue despite court rulings and public outcry. A group of local residents who wanted to see the project on-site attempted to approach the area by sea, but it is alleged that they were blocked by individuals who arrived on boats and were reportedly armed.
Halime Şaman, a founding member of the Marmaris Urban Policy Association who recorded the incident, stated, "As local residents, we wanted to see the area. However, while trying to approach from the sea, we were blocked by armed individuals. They filmed us. This situation is a violation of our right to information." she said.
Şaman expressed the following:
"This situation threatens our safety. They are acting like bandits in the heart of the city. People are being prevented from using the sea, and it is being usurped. They behave this way because they have not faced any sanctions to date. Sinpaş must be brought to heel before the law. Otherwise, we will see more of these scenes. We do not want this. We call on the authorities to take action. We will file a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office."
