Arrest requested for two individuals over İmamoğlu social media posts

An arrest has been requested for two individuals who were detained due to social media posts regarding the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into individuals who made posts regarding the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. 

Within the scope of the investigation, an arrest has been requested for two individuals who made such posts. 

In a statement issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that 106 suspects, including İmamoğlu, were detained as part of investigations into allegations of "corruption and terrorism," and the following was noted:

"Regarding the investigations, within the scope of the investigations conducted into the account holders who made provocative and manipulative posts on social media platforms aimed at inciting the public to hatred and hostility, publicly inciting to commit crimes, and other criminal acts that disrupt public order and peace, 2 suspects who were detained have been referred to the Istanbul Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for their arrest on charges of 'publicly inciting to commit a crime' following their statements to the prosecutor's office."
