Arrest requests for numerous individuals

As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Emin Öner, the owner of the company operating under the name ASSAN Group, and its general manager, Gürcan Okumuş, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for their arrest following their statements.

Suspect Öner was brought before the judgeship with a request for his arrest on charges of "membership in an armed terrorist organization" within the scope of FETÖ, and "destroying, using for purposes other than intended, obtaining through fraud, or stealing documents related to state security," while Okumuş was brought before the judgeship on charges of "destroying, using for purposes other than intended, obtaining through fraud, or stealing documents related to state security."

It was reported that the judicial interrogation of the suspects would begin shortly.

DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION

Within the scope of the investigation, known to the public as "military espionage," it was determined that the owners of the companies operating under the ASSAN Group were linked to FETÖ and were conducting military espionage activities.

Öner and Okumuş were taken into custody on August 27. As part of the investigation, trustees were also appointed by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) to 10 companies operating under the ASSAN Group.
