As wildfires continue, Erdoğan's chief advisor offers prayers; CHP responds: 'The nation has prayers, where are your planes?'

Forest fires that broke out in many provinces across Turkey have spread over large areas due to the insufficiency of aerial interventions and the effect of the wind.

While the fire in the Safranbolu district of Karabük has entered its fourth day, a new fire also started in Bursa in the evening hours. The flames spread to residential areas in a short time.

EVACUATIONS IN BURSA CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT

As the fire approached the villages, an evacuation decision was made by the Bursa Governorship. According to the statement, a total of 1,765 people from 480 households were evacuated to safe areas, including 708 people from 170 households in Karahıdır Neighborhood, 600 from 220 households in İğdir Neighborhood, and 457 from 90 households in Avdancık Neighborhood in the Osmangazi district.

A PRAYER FROM THE PALACE

A remarkable statement came from the Palace regarding the fires continuing across the country. Oktay Saral, chief advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, offered a prayer in a post on his X account, using the words, "My Lord! Help us!"

CHP Party Assembly (PM) member Berkay Gezgin reacted to Saral's post.

Stating, "A chief advisor who should be producing solutions with state wisdom is tweeting 'My Lord, help us'," Gezgin asked, "Sitting in a position of responsibility and escaping from responsibility with prayer is an admission of helplessness. The nation has prayers, where are your planes?"
