Astrologer Hilal Saraç released from prison

Astrologer Hilal Saraç had been arrested due to a post she made on social media regarding the health status of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. 

Using the phrases "Lung problem and shortness of breath... I swear he won't see the election. The election will be early anyway..." on her social media account, Saraç was taken into custody following the backlash and was arrested on charges of "insulting a public official."

During her time in custody, Saraç issued a statement to the public through her family, apologizing to both President Erdoğan and MHP leader Bahçeli, stating, "I am against any disrespect shown to state officials."

Astrologer Hilal Saraç, who was released today after 60 days of detention, included the following statements in a post on her social media account:

"I said that hope cannot be handcuffed. Thank God I have been released. I embrace with love all the hearts that prayed for me."
