Savaş, who was pushed off the stage, made his first statement after overcoming the shock of the incident. Lütfü Savaş stated that the attacker 'is receiving psychiatric treatment'.

Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that he spoke with Lütfü Savaş and reported the following:
"He said that the attacker is receiving psychiatric treatment, that there was no intent or animosity against him, that he was not harmed by the attack, and that he continued the rally after getting back on his feet.”
