Two suspects who were detained on charges of causing injury to one person during a fight that broke out with a security guard at the Marmaray station in Pendik, after they attempted to pass through the turnstiles without scanning their cards, have been referred to the courthouse.

Officers from the Istanbul Police Department arrived at the scene yesterday evening following reports of a fight at the Marmaray station in Pendik.

Investigations revealed that a dispute arose between the suspects, M.T. and S.G., and the security guard, Y.G., who had escorted them out after they attempted to pass through the turnstiles without scanning their cards.

STATION MANAGER INJURED

It was reported that during the argument, which escalated into a fight, the suspect S.G. punched the security guard and brandished a sharp object he had taken from a sack he was carrying, which struck and injured the station manager, S.Ö.

It was determined that during the fight, the security guard Y.G. drew his service weapon while in the area of responsibility, but holstered it shortly after and managed to take the sharp object from the suspect S.G.
