August inflation announced in Istanbul: Retail prices rose by 1.66 percent monthly

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the Istanbul inflation data for the August 2026 period. The Istanbul Consumer Price Index, which is monitored as an indicator of retail price movements in the city, increased by 1.66 percent in August compared to the previous month.

According to ITO data, the annual price increase in Istanbul was 34.96 percent. Thus, prices in the city rose by 34.96 percent in August 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year.

Istanbul inflation is among the leading indicators closely followed by markets and economic circles ahead of the official inflation data to be announced for Turkey as a whole.
