The Ardanuç district of Artvin offers different beauties to its visitors throughout all four seasons with its wooden architecture, historical monuments, plateaus, and wildlife diversity.
Zekerya village, in particular, has been increasing its recognition in recent years as one of the first places where autumn is experienced.
Erhan Altuntaş, one of the village residents, stated that autumn begins earlier in Zekerya village due to its high altitude, saying, "Because our village is at a high elevation, the leaves turn yellow earlier than in many other places. For this reason, the explosion of color is also experienced earlier. Our village was the subject of news reports last year. Since then, many people have been coming to our village to take autumn photos."
Another village resident, Ahmet Pehlevan, said, "We are located at an altitude of 2,400 meters, and the mountain plateau extends up to 3,000 meters. The autumn season is experienced earlier in this village than in other places. There are many people who see our village on social media and come here to take photos. We live in a difficult geography, but the beauty of our village makes us forget these difficulties."
