Hürriyet newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi stated that the investigation into the "coup attempt" allegations, which were brought to the agenda by the statements of secret witness Serdar Sertçelik—who is alleged to be the number two of the organized crime group—in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case, has been completed, saying, "As a result of the investigation, no findings were reached to support the coup allegations."
Arguing that police chiefs in the Ayhan Bora Kaplan case were deliberately lynched by the media, Selvi used the following expressions: "Consequently, Ayhan Bora Kaplan's morale has hit the ceiling in this situation. His self-confidence has returned. So much so that he has reached the level of calling the judge 'my dear.' He is now expecting to be released with an interim decision to be made by the court. If Ayhan Bora Kaplan is released while the police officers who caught him are under arrest, then the operation would have achieved its goal."
