Ayşe Ateş, wife of Sinan Ateş, apologizes on TV to journalists her husband had beaten

Ayşe Ateş revealed that her husband, Sinan Ateş, who was murdered in Ankara, had journalists beaten, but noted that some of the journalists he had targeted later supported her.

Participating in a live broadcast on KRT to make statements regarding current events, Ateş said that they had argued over this issue.

Ateş's statements are as follows:

"I told Sinan, 'You have two children, what are you doing? This is very ugly, it doesn't suit you, I cannot comprehend it.' He said, 'I have to do it, instructions are coming from the Headquarters. If I don't do it, they will penalize me.'"

After these events, we argued and didn't speak for days. Shortly after, Sinan was also removed from his post. I wonder if Sinan didn't do the things they wanted, and if that's why he was removed from his post."

"I apologize to all of those journalists. I apologize on his behalf. May they forgive him. He has passed on to the afterlife. Some of the journalists he had beaten have also been very supportive of me. We need honest and decent journalists. They became my voice. They said what I could not say. I wish these events had never happened."
