Journalist Ayşenur Arslan, who was the subject of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to her remarks regarding the terrorist bombing attack in Ankara and whose program was subsequently removed by Halk TV, described her experiences in an article she penned for Halk TV, calling it her "first".
"IT WAS LIKE ATTENDING MY OWN FUNERAL"
"The days I was taken to the prosecutor's office and the days that followed were like attending my own funeral. I had no idea I had so many people who loved me, so many siblings and comrades. So many people were saddened for me. On the contrary, it was an adventure that added richness to my life," said Arslan, adding, "It was not a surprise. It was a storm that you could feel approaching from the smell of the soil and the electricity in the air! I was not surprised. I was not shaken. Moreover, as I said, I was even happy to have the opportunity to attend my own funeral."
Stating that she received phone calls from Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and Ekrem İmamoğlu, Arslan wrote, "This 'first' article is the first few meters of the march. Accept it as such. As for what comes next! First, let me deal with this shingles. We will share the rest later."
