A 'friendly' warning from Aytun Çıray to the CHP, where he served as an MP for three terms, and to Özel: 'It is drifting too much now'

Aytun Çıray issued a 'friendly' warning regarding the CHP's decision not to attend the October 1, 2025, opening of Parliament, through a statement he made on his social media account.

Starting his remarks by pointing to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Çıray alleged that the people around Özgür Özel were misguiding him regarding the decisions taken.

Çıray stated for CHP Chairman Özel, "Either he has no friends who will show him the truth, warn him with courage, or make suggestions. Either those around him lack the necessary experience... Or he is not listening to anyone."

Addressing the decision of the CHP, where he served as an MP for three terms, not to attend the opening of Parliament, Aytun Çıray used the following expressions in his statement, which he titled 'Is Özgür Özel alone?':

IS ÖZGÜR ÖZEL ALONE?

Mr. Özgür must be very alone.

Either he has no friends who will show him the truth, warn him with courage, or make suggestions.

Either those around him lack the necessary experience..

Or he is not listening to anyone.

Whatever the reason, it is drifting too much now.

If it continues like this, once the municipal agenda is over, the support of the comrade TV channels may not be enough either.

Now they have made an announcement to the MPs as follows:

“Dear fellow members of parliament,

In our Party Assembly that met today, a decision was made for our group not to attend the Parliament opening on October 1, 2025.

We wish for our MPs to be informed and to act accordingly.

Regards.”

First of all; the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which was kept open even when the enemy reached Polatlı during the War of Independence…

Cannot be emptied just because the President will be protested.

The TBMM belongs neither to the President nor to political parties.

It is, in and of itself, and "unconditionally, the nation's."

It is the temple of democracy.

You may or may not stand up for the President…

You may protest by not applauding.

But whatever you are going to do, you do it under that roof.

Secondly; without taking a group decision regarding parliamentary activities..

If you attempt to present a fait accompli to the nation's representatives with a Party Assembly that has no legislative responsibility...

You might suddenly find that the group has started to slip out from under you.

Indeed, you made this mistake at the 2024 TBMM opening.

By presenting a fait accompli to the group, you stood up when the President entered the General Assembly -you can do that-.

But what happened…

Half of the group, faced with the fait accompli, protested and did not stand up.

The CHP, where I proudly served as an MP for three terms, is not like other parties.

A sincere and friendly warning from me;

Treating people like "toy soldiers" there will be met with a reaction after a while.
