Aziz Nesin warned about the FETÖ structure 31 years ago

A speech Aziz Nesin gave during a television program in 1993 has become a hot topic on social media again. With the words, 'Turkey needs to wake up, intellectuals need to wake up,' Nesin had essentially warned about a coup attempt years in advance.

In his speech, where he pointed to the present day, Aziz Nesin explains that graduates of Imam Hatip schools would enter all units of the state, that the military would be seized, and that a great catastrophe would befall Turkey through this path.

In his speech, Nesin states that graduates of Imam Hatip schools were being placed in state institutions and that between 500 and 2,000 people were being expelled from military academies every year to be replaced by Imam Hatip graduates.

"Those who graduated from Imam Hatip schools have entered the state. More than 50 percent of those within the state are among them. Judges have become one of them, lawyers have become one of them, physicians have become one of them, engineers have become one of them, mayors have become one of them; now they are facing us.

This will not stay here. They are working on it now. What will they work on? We see that it is to seize the military. Through this election path, by feeding the public reactionism like heroin, the public wants more reactionism. It has come to this. Democracy is also the will of the people. They are fulfilling this will. If they cannot come to power this way, they will enter the military.

Every year, 500, 1,000, 2,000 people are expelled from all military schools. They are constantly trying to get those who graduated from Imam Hatip schools into the War Academy.

Tomorrow, a great catastrophe will befall Turkey. And moreover, by distorting thoughts and exposing me to the hostility of the public, they say I wrote these under the influence of external factors.
