Zafer Party Spokesperson Karamahmutoğlu made statements regarding the investigation opened following the assassination of former Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) President Sinan Ateş.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office completed the investigation into the murder on April 29, after two years and four months.

It was noted that the indictment, which includes 22 names, barely mentions why Sinan Ateş was killed or the records regarding the phone correspondence included in the expert report.

ZAFER PARTY MAKES STATEMENT

Zafer Party Spokesperson Azmi Karamahmutoğlu used the following expressions regarding the written indictment:

''In the case file where 22 suspects have been referred to court, we can see the triggermen, we can see those who aided and abetted this political murder, but we cannot see the organizers who are the murderers of an Idealist who served as the President of the Idealist Hearths, nor can we see the people or the person who ordered this murder.

In other words, we cannot see in the file who the decision-makers are, other than the perpetrators and triggermen of this political murder. We can see that this is being covered up and even that there is an attempt to keep it away from the file.

The purpose here is, of course, very clear: 'For how much longer will the Sinan Ateş murder be used as an element of political blackmail and threat?' The public is waiting with curiosity for the answer to this question.

It is clear that the Sinan Ateş murder file will continue to be dangled like the Sword of Damocles over the heads of the murderers of an Idealist, and it will be used to hold those who have Idealist blood on their hands as 'political hostages'.

Some political cadres who have Idealist blood on their hands have effectively been taken hostage by those in power.''
