Backlash against Sinan Oğan for targeting İmamoğlu: Lands and properties come to mind...

Sinan Oğan, who entered the 2023 Presidential elections as the candidate of the ATA Alliance and supported AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the second round of the election, was a guest on the YouTube channel of the pro-government newspaper Sabah.

Oğan, who used the phrase 'We may not be able to promise heaven, but we will close the gates of hell' during his 2023 election campaign, spoke about Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, and his former alliance partner, Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ.

Targeting the Nation Alliance, Sinan Oğan claimed he succeeded in his goal, stating, "An atmosphere was tried to be created by the Nation Alliance as if there is no politics without the HDP. We said this was wrong. Our goal was to remove the HDP from being a key player in Turkish politics and place Turkish nationalists at the center."

HE TARGETED İMAMOĞLU

Oğan also had Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in his sights.

Claiming that İmamoğlu collaborated with the HDP, Oğan said, "The duty of Turkish nationalists is not to destroy those who rise from within their own ranks and pave the way for, for example, İmamoğlu."

Oğan continued as follows:

"Mr. İmamoğlu wants to be the CHP's candidate, yes, but Turkish nationalists should make no effort for this. Turkish nationalists have no common ground with İmamoğlu, nor can they. On one side, you will welcome those who say they will drown Turkish soldiers in their spit, on one side there will be Selahattin Demirtaş, and on the other side, you will take in Turkish nationalists; there is no such thing. We do not have a single nationalist friend to lose to the HDP and those with the mindset of İmamoğlu."

Sinan Oğan, who claimed to speak on behalf of Turkish nationalists and targeted İmamoğlu, faced a wave of backlash on social media.

CHP'S ÖZTÜRKMEN HAD EXPLAINED WITH DOCUMENTS

Republican People's Party (CHP) Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen had shared documents showing that Sinan Oğan had purchased numerous plots of land, fields, mansions, and ultra-luxury residences worth over 100 million TL before and after the 2023 elections.

Sinan Oğan, on the other hand, admitted in a television program he attended that he had purchased the properties disclosed by Öztürkmen.

Stating that he has been involved in trade for many years and has served as a deputy, Oğan argued that it was normal for him to acquire some real estate, noting that he earned a salary of 2,500 dollars during his time working at TİKA.

In his statement on Sabah's YouTube channel, Sinan Oğan responded to reports that he 'received money' as follows:

"They say I received money. Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu offered something bigger. He offered 3 ministries and the Vice Presidency. But we did not accept."
