Sisters Bahar and Nihal Candan to stand trial

The trial will begin tomorrow under an indictment seeking 14 to 44 years in prison for Bahar Candan and 8 to 24 years for Gülnihal Çiçek, known to the public as "Nihal Candan," on charges of fraud and money laundering.
Under the indictment accepted by the Küçükçekmece 5th High Criminal Court, Bahar Candan and her sister Nihal Candan will appear before the judge tomorrow as defendants.
The indictment, which launched an investigation into the charges of fraud and money laundering and requested prison sentences of 14 to 44 years for Bahar Candan and 8 to 24 years for Nihal Candan, had been accepted by the court.
The investigation determined that members of the criminal organization, who claimed to purchase vehicles cheaply from various state institutions across the country through tenders, gained the trust of the victims they reached by selling them cheap vehicles and collected money by taking vehicle orders through this method.
It was determined that the suspects, who received approximately 10 million lira from 13 victims using the same method, did not make refunds or deliver vehicles to the victims, citing problems with the tender.
Following this, 5 of the 6 suspects detained in the operation conducted on May 3 were arrested.
