Bahçeli had closed the doors: AKP figure makes 'We are in the final stretch toward the election' statement!

While the opposition's calls for an election continue, AKP member Şamil Tayyar stated in a post on his social media account, "Although there is still plenty of time, we are in the final stretch toward the election." At the end of his post, Tayyar added, "I expect surprise changes throughout 2026 that will periodically and fundamentally affect the political spectrum, parties, the cabinet, and the bureaucracy."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has frequently brought up the call for a snap election recently, while MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has closed the door to an election.

In his party's group meeting yesterday, Bahçeli said, "It is clear when the ballot box will speak; its verdict will manifest when the time comes. There will be no room for intermediate formulas, circuitous paths, or arbitrary games."

Özel, in turn, challenged the call for a snap election, saying, "Declare that you will hold a snap election, that you will accept all resignations, and that you will not prevent the snap election with various tricks or maneuvers. Anyone who does not bring the resignations of 50 or 55 deputies to place snap election ballot boxes across the widest geography of Turkey, not just 30, is a coward."

While election debates continue in politics, a noteworthy post came from AKP's Şamil Tayyar.

Stating that although there is still time until the election process, the political atmosphere has entered the final stretch, Tayyar indicated that preparations for this process would take shape throughout 2026.

"My observation.

Although there is still plenty of time, we are in the final stretch toward the election.

For that reason.
