MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli has proposed the establishment of a "World Peace Council" during a period of rising conflicts and tensions, including long-standing tensions in the Middle East, the recent conflict initiated by the US and Israel against Iran, and the ongoing war launched by Russia against Ukraine.

In a message sent to a tv100 program, Devlet Bahçeli addressed the fact that the 21-hour talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad yielded no results.

"WORLD WAR III SCENARIOS ARE BEING DISCUSSED MORE LOUDLY"

Stating in his message that recent developments have caused World War III scenarios to be discussed more loudly, Bahçeli said, "Let a World Peace Council be established; Turkey can host it."

"WORLD PEACE COUNCIL" PROPOSAL

Devlet Bahçeli included the following statements in his message:

"The fact that the ongoing talks between Iran and the US in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, remained inconclusive has resulted in an outcome that threatens world peace. The developments have caused World War III scenarios to be discussed more loudly.

Under these conditions, we propose that, upon the call of UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the US, Russia, China, Turkey, and the European Union develop a new measure through a 'World Peace Council' mechanism. We believe that Turkey could host this initiative."
