Bahçeli targets Özel and İmamoğlu: 'Show a stance like a man...'

Speaking at his party's parliamentary group meeting, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli targeted CHP leader Özgür Özel and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Criticizing İmamoğlu's visit to Rome, Bahçeli said, "They are squandering the municipal budget and being wasteful." Regarding the 'normalization' visits in politics, he targeted Özgür Özel, stating, "It is the opposition parties that need to normalize." Responding to a question about the regulation on stray animals as he left the group meeting, Bahçeli said, "Everyone in Turkey is discussing this issue; instead of just discussing it, a solution must be found."

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçelimade statements regarding the agenda at his party's weekly parliamentary group meeting.

"THEY ARE BEING WASTEFUL"

İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's trip to Rome with journalists drew a reaction from Bahçeli, who said, "After that fancy Rome trip, no one will believe the Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor when he talks about wastefulness. They are squandering the municipal budget and being wasteful." he stated.

"THERE IS NOTHING ABNORMAL IN TURKEY"

Speaking on CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's call for 'normalization,' Bahçeli said, "There is nothing abnormal in Turkey. The only things that are not normal in our country are the supporters of denial and betrayal. We are not saying let us polarize and fight, but if the words 'normalization' and 'softening' are being attached to every issue to demand concessions from our goals, then no one should bother trying in vain. It is the opposition parties that need to normalize and comply with national and moral norms. I advise Mr. Özgür to display a stance like a man." he said.

The highlights from Bahçeli's statements are as follows:

My esteemed fellow deputies, distinguished guests, I greet you all at the beginning of our group meeting this week. I convey my most sincere greetings to our citizens who are following today's meeting.

The Turkish nation has articulated morality and justice, as well as art and culture. The generation of conquests has surrounded and embraced the world. As one era closed, the door to another was opened. Istanbul was freed from its chains 571 years ago. Istanbul reunited with its beloved Turkish nation 571 years ago. Istanbul is the first center of Turkish world sovereignty.

Just as our historical monuments are the title deeds of the Turkish nation, so too are the conquests, and they will remain so. The detachment of the legacies of our conquest from their roots and identity will not be tolerated. Istanbul will certainly be protected from the internal and external operational pawns who think of making the ghost of Byzantium and Byzantine ambitions hover over Istanbul like dark clouds again, who secretly prepare projects related to this, and who are constantly waiting for a convenient time. We will continue to disturb the internal and external occupation front, whose sleep has been disturbed not only since the conquest but also by the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque, and we will continue to leave their ambitions unfulfilled.

TARGETING İMAMOĞLU: ISTANBUL IS GASPING FOR AIR

The poor management of Istanbul is squandering the legacy of the conquest. Taking partisan journalists on vacation and for pleasure is nothing more than a flawed practice of a shameful mentality. After the lavish trip to Rome, no one will believe the İBB when it talks about wastefulness. Istanbul is gasping for air. It has been condemned to the destruction of those who are 'brewing' [a reference to the 'Table of Six' alliance]. Istanbul is our 571-year-old cause.

The MHP's long-term goal is for Istanbul to be part of Turkey's rise as a leading country and superpower by 2053. Istanbul will reach the summit it deserves in the Turkish and Turkey Century. This sacred goal will be achieved not by those who have fallen into disgrace, but by patriots and nationalists who carry the honor of belonging to the Turkish nation. All those who say 'Persecution began in 1453' are the Byzantine remnants gathered in the enemy camp, and we will settle our accounts with them sooner or later. We have no option other than to succeed. I wish mercy upon Fatih Sultan Mehmet Khan and all our martyrs.

BAHÇELİ TO NETANYAHU: 'CANIYAHU' [MURDERER-YAHU]

Israel's bloody attacks on innocent Palestinians continue unabated. New ones are added to the massacres every day. The scene in Gaza is heartbreaking. On May 26, many innocent people were brutally slaughtered in a humanitarian zone hit by precision munitions. Many innocent, guiltless people trying to hold onto life were officially burned under fire. Israel has rained death with its warplanes. I condemn the Israeli administration, especially Netanyahu, or 'Caniyahu', with all my anger.

Our expectation is for our country to issue an arrest warrant for Israel's murderer prime minister and defense minister as soon as possible. It is high time for radical interventions based on swift and chain sanctions. Islamic countries must stand up. There can be no such thing as neutrality in the face of oppression. While children in Gaza are dying of hunger and wearing shrouds instead of holiday clothes, do the bohemian leaders of some Islamic countries, who swim in billions of dollars and only remember the fear of God in words, really feel at peace when they put their heads on their pillows at night?

Those who remain silent in the face of genocide and provide support are, along with Israel, against world peace. It is high time for radical interventions based on punitive and military sanctions instead of mere measures. The silent majority is against Israel. There is no option left other than taking concrete steps instead of stalling with condemnation messages. Islamic countries must stand up.

"WERE THEY ABLE TO STAND BEHIND OUR PRESIDENT?"

Have they been able to stand behind the Palestinian cause even 10 percent as much as our President? Turkey must elevate its leading role and intervene directly in favor of the innocent. The decision of 3 countries to recognize [Palestine] has brought relief to our nation's heart. A Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital must absolutely be recognized. No state that claims to be committed to human rights can or should remain indifferent. The recognition of Palestine must grow like an avalanche. The genocidal Israel must withdraw from Palestinian lands as soon as possible. The US must not evade its humanitarian and historical responsibilities. The US reaction to the arrest request is nonsense.

"TURKEY IS NOT THE 51ST STATE OF THE US"

The US is setting up a new game in northern Syria. So-called regional elections will be held in northeastern Syria on June 11. This means a new phase in the division of Turkey. It is clear that the US views its dialogue with terrorists in the area described by the separatist organization as 'Rojava' as strategically important. Turkey must build a bridge of cooperation by joining hands with the Syrian administration, and the invasion by the terrorist organization must not be permitted.

The roots of terrorism must be eradicated through military operations. There is no room for betrayal. It is a disgrace for the US to use terrorism as a political instrument. The support the US provides to terrorism in neighboring geographies is an extreme threat to Turkey. Turkey is not a colony or the 51st state of the US, nor is it possible for it to be.

CALL TO THE US: "FETÖ MEMBERS SHOULD BE EXTRADITED TO TURKEY"

The procurement process for the fighter jets Turkey has applied for must be accelerated. The US should withdraw from Syria and Iraq immediately, just as it did in Afghanistan. It must abandon its illegitimate attitude. FETÖ members who have nested in the US must be handed over to Turkey. If the US cannot sever its ties with the PKK and PYD, our proposal is for it to move these terrorists to its own country and establish a 'terror state' there. Let them enjoy the pleasure of betrayal, give them land, feed them, pamper them, and wait to be stabbed in the back by them.

"COOPERATION MUST BE ESTABLISHED WITH DAMASCUS"

Cooperation must be established with Damascus. The roots of the separatist terrorist organization must be eradicated through military operations that I suggest Turkey and Syria conduct in coordination at the source. We have no choice but to strike at the heart of terrorism like a spear.

FROM BAHÇELİ TO ÖZEL: I ADVISE HIM TO SHOW A STANCE LIKE A MAN

There is nothing abnormal in Turkey. The only things that are not normal in our country are the supporters of denial and betrayal. We are not saying let us polarize and fight, but if the words 'normalization' and 'softening' are being attached to every issue to demand concessions from our goals, no one should waste their efforts. It is the opposition parties that need to normalize and comply with national and moral norms. I advise Mr. Özgür to show a stance like a man. If he thinks we will take a step back, he will surely understand one day that he is mistaken. The stance of the MHP and the People's Alliance is clear. I warn those who have become emboldened after March 31; they should be careful, there are no buyers for their 'lousy beans' in our market.

We do not go against the evening; there is no logical explanation for being in the same frame and embracing with the organization while also talking about normalization. We know their intentions well. No scheme or perception management will be able to disrupt our determination to serve Turkey. I warn those who have become emboldened after March 31; there are no buyers for their 'lousy beans' in our market. The People's Alliance is a guarantee. Everyone will soon see how the political sycophants who rely on social media lies will melt away. In the elections on June 2, the People's Alliance will be worthy of our nation's favor. With democratic virtue and trust, the election will be held and our Pınarbaşı will say 'continue on the path.' Pınarbaşı will grow, the monument of Turkishness will live on, and the People's Alliance will exist."

RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ON STRAY ANIMALS

Responding to a question about the regulation on stray animals as he left the group meeting, Bahçeli said, "Everyone in Turkey is discussing this issue; instead of just discussing it, a solution must be found."
