Bahçeli's take on the Erdoğan-Özel meeting: Our President can meet with anyone

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke at his party's group meeting.

Highlights from Bahçeli's remarks are as follows:

"Distinguished deputies, esteemed guests, valuable representatives of our press, I greet you all with respect and affection as we begin our meeting. I send my greetings to all our citizens following our meeting and to our brothers and sisters struggling for life in our cultural geographies.

We have maintained our existence in the Anatolian geography for a thousand years. Our existence will preserve its presence by adding strength to its power. We are aware of the struggles for dominance that are attached to geopolitical arm-wrestling. While addressing the heavy problems we are exposed to, we must act with the guidance of historical consciousness.

We must have the courage and intelligence to shed light on the inner face of hidden agendas and disrupt the games. We must carefully avoid getting caught up in adventurous currents. We are observing with concern the rumors served as 'backstage information,' the winds of lies, and especially the distortion of our President's meetings."

"ERDOĞAN CAN MEET WITH ANYONE"

"Our President can naturally meet with and listen to anyone; we see no harm in it. What is harmful is the baseless rumors, the unbridled spread of gossip, and the whipping up of discord. Reducing the pressure of the boiling pot of rumors should be considered an alternative path. We must see not only the tongs but also the hands that hold and direct them."

"A TERROR STATE IS BEING PLANNED IN SYRIA"

"A terror state is being planned on our southern borders. I am warning everyone: the main target is Turkey. Those who want to take revenge on Turkey are waiting in line. The goal is to corner Turkey."

HARSH WORDS FOR CHP LEADER ÖZEL

"The CHP, 'DEM-infused' and captured, has long since parted ways with Atatürk. Mr. Özgür keeps saying that we want a fight; we have no such intention. If we were to fight, Mr. Özgür should rest assured that he is neither in our class, nor our quality, nor our weight. Our issue is not with the tongs, but with the hands that hold them."
